CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

We take corporate social responsibility seriously. Our staff regularly participate in programs to improve the environment and the communities in which we operate.

We are proud of the place we hold in the finance industry above and beyond the services and benefits we provide to members. We are extremely conscious of the responsibility we play in society on many levels and are actively seeking ways and opportunities to ensure we are meeting the expectations of our members and our staff of our corporate responsibilities.

Our staff love getting behind various fundraising events, volunteering and give donations regularly. We truly believe in helping not for profit organisations in the local community, and this is evident in a number of ways.

Staff Fundraising

On the last Friday of each month, staff wear casual clothes and make a donation to the chosen charity for the month. Since the launch of our ‘Casual for our Community’ days, we have raised thousands of dollars for numerous charities across Australia.

Our staff are immersed in community activities and regularly participate in Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, Legacy, Red Cross Blood Donations and many more! You can help next time you visit your local branch by giving to the donation box you see on our counter.

Volunteering in your Community

Our 580 staff are entitled to use one Community Leave Day each year to volunteer their time in the local community.  Last financial year our staff donated 1000 hours to the community for activities like Camp Quality, fundraiser events and more!

Members of the credit union and the local community are also invited to join us in strengthening the local community through volunteering.

Workplace Giving

All of our employees are able to make regular donations to the Community CPS Foundation or other nominated not for profit organisation through our Workplace Giving program. Our employees recognise that just a little bit each week can go a long way to helping others.

Environment

We have been working at reducing the amount of electricity we consume in our buildings as well as reducing our paper consumption. Many of our community initiatives support environmental awareness such as sustainable living, and tree planting. We have developed a Carbon Calculator to assist our members in reducing their carbon footprint.
