Week 9 Climate Challenge

Travel by a green clean low emission machine

In Australia, road transport emissions account for 12.6% of national greenhouse gas emissions, with passenger cars accounting for approximately 7.8% of total national emissions, while light commercial vehicles and heavy trucks account for 4.8%. Make a difference to your household’s greenhouse gas emissions by reconsidering how you travel.

  • Try to reduce your total weekly car trips by at least 2 trips this week!

  • If you need to drive, take turns car pooling with a work colleague. It will save on fuel costs if you share this cost amongst a group.

  • Are you considering buying a new vehicle? Consider buying a vehicle with less CO2 emissions you will not only be helping the environment, but you’ll be helping to create a demand for cars that are safer for our climate.
