Week 1 Challenge

This week’s challenge is all about reducing hot water consumption.

As we live on the driest country on earth, saving water is remains a top priority for Australians and reducing the amount of water that needs heating in the house also brings down your energy bill.

Keeping showers to under four minutes saves both water and energy. The savings are even more drastic when replacing an old showerhead with a water-efficient one. A water-efficient showerhead uses up to nine litres per minute, compared to 20 litres per minute running through an older model.

By installing a water-efficient showerhead and cutting shower times from 10 minutes to four, you save 164 litres of water with every shower. You also save the energy needed to heat that water, significantly reducing your carbon emissions.
